About This Farm School Session

Through hands-on animal care, garden preparation, and seasonal farm work, students will explore the lifecycles of animals and plants, develop responsibility, and gain confidence through meaningful participation. This session offers real experiences — not simulations — in a safe, guided, and age-appropriate farm environment.

 What’s Included

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • 🐐 Bottle-feed a baby goat and enjoy supervised goat playtime
  • 🐥 Observe chicks hatching in the brooder and practice safe chick handling
  • 🌱 Prepare gardens and start seeds, with a take-home herb pot
  • 🚜 Visit Ohana Homestead to experience large-scale livestock care:
    • Feeding hay to cows and goats
    • Seeing large pigs up close
    • Collecting eggs (when available)
    • Raking and preparing the birthing barn for spring babies
